Jenny Darcy co-director & Pre-Primary Lead
Jenny Darcy was born and raised in Boone. She graduated from Appalachian State in 2016 with her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She went on to teach in 3rd grade in Greensboro and 4th grade in Wilmington; however, over time, she missed the mountains so much that she came back to Boone in 2018. In her free time, she loves playing games with friends and family, watching Science-Fiction shows, and playing with her dog, 3 cats, and 6 quail! Jenny first served as our Public School Enrichment lead, went on to lead Upper Elementary, served as Director of Mountain Pathways, and has now transitioned into one of our Teacher Leaders for the Pre-Primary classroom!
Caroline Culligan Lead
Caroline Culligan graduated from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Special Education. She has been fortunate to have worked with a variety of kiddos ranging from ages 1-16 for the past 5 years. She worked in a public school setting with kindergarten and 3rd grade. She has also worked as a private behavior therapist with children with Autism. I moved to Boone in January 2024 to join Mountain Pathways after deciding to begin to seriously pursue her interest in a Montessori setting. When she’s not getting to work with her students she is reading and listening to music every chance she gets! Caroline loves being out in nature and spending time with her family. She is so excited to get to know the new families coming in for the new semester!
Hallie Dixon Assistant
Hallie is a North Carolina native, originally from Avery County. She is currently studying Zoology through Oregon State University. Longterm, she is interested in pursuing a career in wildlife conservation. She has a background in Environmental Education and wild animal care. She enjoys sharing her love for nature with her students! In her free time, you can find Hallie hiking, reading, and spending time with her animals. She is excited to join the team and get to know each and every one of you!
